This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro combines the unmistakable look of a first-generation Camaro with a serious big-block drivetrain and carefully selected modern upgrades. Built as a semi Pro-Touring car, it retains much of its original character while offering substantially more power, braking capability and handling than a stock Camaro.

Originally equipped with a V8, the car retains its original floors and quarter panels and has been finished as an SS clone. It presents extremely well throughout, with a classic appearance complemented by a tasteful Pro-Touring stance.

Under the hood is the centerpiece of the build: a GM Performance 572ci crate engine rated at 620 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. Fuel delivery is handled by a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection system, while ceramic-coated Hooker headers let the big-block breathe. Cooling is handled by a Mishimoto aluminum radiator with dual electric fans.

Power is sent through a TH400 automatic transmission to a 12-bolt rear differential equipped with Positraction and 3.23 gears.

The suspension and braking systems have also been upgraded to complement the additional power. Adjustable QA1 shocks are fitted at all four corners, along with CalTracs in the rear. Four-wheel disc brakes with Wilwood front components provide upgraded braking capability.

Staggered 17-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels wrapped in Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires complete the semi Pro-Touring stance without taking away from the classic appearance of the car.

This is not an extreme modern Pro-Touring build that has lost the character of a 1969 Camaro. Instead, it combines classic styling and original sheet metal with a 572ci big-block and a carefully selected combination of modern performance upgrades.
